Best Way to Conceal Carry
Understanding how to safely handle firearms is the foundation of responsible gun ownership, but knowing the best way to conceal carry is just as important for everyday safety and accessibility. Here are key considerations for effective and comfortable concealed carry:
-
Choose the Right Holster – A high-quality, well-fitted holster is essential for both comfort and quick access. Options include inside-the-waistband (IWB), outside-the-waistband (OWB), appendix carry, and shoulder holsters. The right choice depends on your body type, clothing, and preferred carry position.
-
Dress for Concealment – Loose-fitting shirts, jackets, and purpose-built concealed carry clothing can help prevent printing (where the outline of your firearm is visible through clothing).
-
Accessibility & Safety – While concealment is key, you should still be able to access your firearm quickly and efficiently when needed. Practice drawing from your concealed position to ensure smooth movements under stress.
-
Retention & Comfort – A properly secured firearm prevents unnecessary movement and keeps it accessible without discomfort. Adjustable holsters with retention features help maintain control of your weapon while ensuring it stays concealed.
In our Basic Firearms Familiarization and Safety Course, we emphasize safe handling and practical applications, including discussions on holster selection and concealment methods. Whether you’re new to firearms or looking to refine your carrying techniques, this course provides a hands-on learning experience in a safe and controlled environment.
